Provincial Profile: Shanghai
Continuing its series of profiles on China's provincial energy markets, CERA's China Energy team examines Shanghai. In the past few years Shanghai has emerged as the financial and commercial center of China . Along with neighboring Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, Shanghai forms the global economic powerhouse of the Yangtze River Delta. But insufficient energy supplies are a bottleneck on the city's economic growth.
